Dragon Ball Movie (2009)

The dragon ball animated series has invaded the minds of the kids and even the adults worldwide. It’s been for centuries but it’s popularity has never faded, not a single day. The mentioned animation has different series like dargon ballz, dragon ball GT and etc. Long time has it been one of the most sought after cartoon all around the globe but was never given a movie, a realistic movie with real persons as the cast. Fans obsessed with it especially the kids never anticipated for a film for this. Because of the very long and sometimes complicated inter-related stories, some haven’t finished the complete series, and that includes me…hehe. Let me share to you  how much I was addicted to death by this one (of course prior to naruto). The anime was very popular when I aged I think 7 and never has it stopped to invade my mind. It wasn’t only me, also my bros and my friends during my childhood, and so do you(of course! that’s the reason why your reading this! =P) I would cry out very loud and become wild if my father wouldn’t change to channel to GMA7 or when he turn the channel to another when I’m watching it. I wouldn’t stop yelling until my demand is granted…hahaha… I was a stubborn and demanding kid when it comes to animes back then. It has come to fame along with Ghost fighter, Gundam, Mystic Knights Rayearth, and a lot lot more! Oh god I could still remember some of my favorite cartoon shows… But now, as you may know, I’;m totally psyched out and addicted to naruto more than this. But I won’t make this so long and I’ll give you the sypnosis and the plot summary of the movie. I also have included the poster of the movie.

The story begins with a young humanoid boy named Goku, who discovers that he was sent to Earth to blend in and destroy our population but instead elects to protect it from an oncoming alien onslaught bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects. He seeks out upon his adoptive grandfather Grandpa Gohan’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls. Of which he has one, in order to prevent the evil Lord Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world. And Goku’s quest is to obtain the mystical Dragonballs before Piccolo does.

[Based on] The King Piccolo Saga [Dragonball], also known as the Piccolo Daimaoh Saga (Demon Lord Piccolo Saga) is the penultimate saga from the anime Dragon Ball. It occurs after the Tien Shinhan Saga and precedes the Piccolo Junior Saga. It includes the battles between Goku and King Piccolo’s sons, Goku’s first encounter with the Samurai warrior, Yajirobe, Goku’s quest to find the Holy Water, his final battle with young King Piccolo, and the birth of Piccolo Junior

Appearances also made by Yamcha and Bulma but regretably not Pu’ar or Oolong, nor even Krillin. Ox King and his Daughter Chi Chi are speculated

Here are the posters:

Did you have enough? I hope I didn’t spoil you..hehehe… Well the movie seemed to be a star studded beacuse the great Chow Yun Fat is inlcuded in the characters. I have read some posts regarding this and I found out that it was supposed to be released this 8th day of August, as you can see in the picture, but was delayed to 2009 for some reasons I am not aware of. You just wait for it and for sure this is gonna be a great movie!

Here are some ways to be helpful to someone who is threatening suicide

Filed under: Whatever..., Suicidal Notes - jay edward @ 12:46 pm
  • Be direct. Talk openly and matter-of-factly about suicide.
  • Be willing to listen. Allow expressions of feelings. Accept the feelings.
  • Be non-judgmental. Don’t debate whether suicide is right or wrong, or feelings are good or bad. Don’t lecture on the value of life.
  • Get involved. Become available. Show interest and support.
  • Don’t dare him or her to do it.
  • Don’t act shocked. This will put distance between you.
  • Don’t be sworn to secrecy. Seek support.
  • Offer hope that alternatives are available but do not offer glib reassurance.
  • Take action. Remove means, such as guns or stockpiled pills.
  • Get help from persons or agencies specializing in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

Understanding and Helping the Suicidal Person

Filed under: Whatever..., Suicidal Notes - jay edward @ 11:08 am

Be Aware of the Warning Signs of Suicide

There is no typical suicide victim. It happens to young and old, rich and poor. Fortunately there are some common warning signs of suicide which, when acted upon, can save lives. Here are some signs to look for:

A suicidal person might be suicidal if he or she:

  • Talks about committing suicide
  • Has trouble eating or sleeping
  • Experiences drastic changes in behavior
  • Withdraws from friends and/or social activities
  • Loses interest in hobbies, work, school, etc.
  • Prepares for death by making out a will and final arrangements
  • Gives away prized possessions
  • Has attempted suicide before
  • Takes unnecessary risks
  • Has had recent severe losses
  • Is preoccupied with death and dying
  • Loses interest in their personal appearance
  • Increases their use of alcohol or drugs

But don’t people have the right to kill themselves if they want to?

Filed under: Whatever..., Suicidal Notes - jay edward @ 2:32 pm

Yes, and it must always remain the person’s own responsibility to choose what they wish to do. However, helping people to deal with their problems better, see their options more clearly, make better choices for themselves and avoid choices that they would normally regret empowers people with their rights; it does not take their rights away.

Hang on; isn’t it illegal though? Doesn’t that stop people?

Filed under: Whatever..., Suicidal Notes - jay edward @ 11:31 am

Whether it is legal or not makes no difference to someone who is in such distress that they are trying to kill themselves. You can’t legislate against emotional pain so making it illegal doesn’t stop people in distress from feeling suicidal. It is likely to merely isolate them further, particularly since the vast majority of attempts are unsuccessful, leaving the attemptor in a worse state than before if they’re now a criminal as well. In some countries and states it is still illegal, in other places it’s not.
